About

Olivia Westenskow, LPC

Hello and welcome to this site! I have been working in the mental health field since 2018. I have had the opportunity to work in community mental health as well as in private practice, as peer, coordinator,  crisis counselor, family and individual therapist.

I love spending time with my family, friends and staying active and creative in a lot of various hobbies. Some of my favorites are traveling, baking delicious treats and learning about new things. If I can do it with the people I love, it makes it heaven on earth.

"Olivia was a lifeline to me last year. My mom’s health was declining, and my history with my family has been one of me giving everything I had to help, but this time I was afraid of what the emotional cost would be to me and how would I handle it all and how could I best help my mom. Olivia helped me first get clear on my boundaries with all of my family members and then focus on how I could help my mom as she/we navigated her declining health and finally her death. Olivia helped me through the difficult emotions around my mom’s coming death and coached me on the conversations I needed to have so that I knew her wishes and was able to provide the space for her to share her thoughts and feelings with me. Olivia helped me see that what my mom most needed was validation and love. Experiencing my mom’s last few months with her has been the most profound experience of my life and Olivia gently and kindly guided me through it all."
"I have been working with Olivia for a year now, and she has made an immeasurable difference in the way I experience life. I came to her with fresh trauma and was in a very vulnerable state, but over time she has helped me work though both recent events and painful experiences from days long past. She never rushed me, but was patient as I began the process of healing from domestic violence. With her help I have been able to develop coping skills which improve my daily life. I am better equipped to handle stresses, develop healthy habits, and nurture positive relationships. Olivia isn’t just a great listener; she helps me hear and evaluate my own feelings. Her knowledge and abilities have continually impressed me as I have dealt with further challenges. I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for her and her work."
"Olivia--This has been a truly wonderful experience, and I am so happy that you were the person who has helped me. Honestly, if it were someone else, I would never had made the investment. I would still be struggling how to, "figure it out" by myself. You gave me great challenges, and provoked a lot of thought and insight. You also gave me safe, compassionate space, allowing me to really look and feel what I have done in my life. Also showing me how resilient I am in my life and how that has been a super power."
